Richard Buxton: Brexit and Corbyn are putting off investors in UK
Richard Buxton seems relieved that 2018 is drawing to a close. As well as running the £31.6bn fund house, Mr Buxton is lead portfolio manager on two UK equity funds. "Global investors have abandoned investing in UK equities. Increasingly UK investors have abandoned investing in UK equities. The twin concerns about Brexit and/or a Corbyn-led government have meant that people have been very reluctant to invest in the UK," Mr Buxton says. Mr Buxton warns that a no-deal Brexit would be terrible for the UK economy. Mr Buxton believes the deal will ultimately get through parliament but also says the chances of a second referendum on Brexit have risen.
