Travelodge targets parents to fill post-Brexit staffing gap
Budget hotel chain Travelodge is targeting parents who want to return to work to fill a potential post-Brexit staffing gap if EU worker numbers fall. The firm, which in 2012 was on the brink of administration, reported strong sales and profits for last year. Travelodge said sales rose 8.8% to £693.3m in 2018. The investors agreed to take on the firm's debt mountain in exchange for controlling stakes in the firm. Sales have risen over £250m and earnings more than trebled.
