Dixons Carphone to close all UK Carphone Warehouse stores
Dixons Carphone Warehouse is to close all its standalone Carphone Warehouse stores in the UK next month with the loss of nearly 3,000 jobs as part of a restructuring of its mobile business. Dixons expects 2,900 redundancies from the closure on April 3 of the 531 stores, which represent 8 per cent of its selling space. The group's mobile telephone services will be sold through Currys PCWorld stores and online. Dixons said there would be a total positive impact of around £200m on cash flow from the restructuring.
